Evelyn Simpson Smith

Evelyn Simpson Smith, 83, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Pruitt Health in Harrisburg.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 13, 12 Noon at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Roger Armistead officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The Smith family will receive friends from 11-12 prior to the service.

Evelyn was born on February 12, 1935 in Cabarrus County to the late Marvin Simpson and Grace Riley Simpson. She was a long time member of Friendship United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women’s group. In addition to church she enjoyed going to gospel singings, spending time with her flowers and her dogs.

She is survived by a son Kenneth Smith of Charlotte; a grandson Andrew Smith; and a sister Juanita Campbell of Kannapolis.
