Edward Monroe Ritch

Edward Monroe Ritch, 88 of Concord passed away Monday December 17, at the Tucker Hospice House.

Funeral services will be Thursday December 20, 2 PM, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Ronald Hartman officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The Ritch Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 prior to the service.

Edd was born in Stanly County July 6, 1930 to the late Seab F. Ritch and Anna Iona Hagler Ritch. During his life Edd enjoyed serving his community as a volunteer fireman and board member of Flowe Store Volunteer Fire Department. He loved the outdoors, he could be found splitting wood to sell to his many loyal customers in the area. Edd also loved having family and friends in their home for holidays and special occasions. He was a committed family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the owner of Ed Ritch and Son’s Drywall. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Frances Jeanette Green Ritch; brothers John and Ira Ritch; sisters, Jessie Alexander and Doris Sheppard; and son in law David Bare.

Edd is survived by a daughter, Dollie Bare; sons, Donald Ritch and wife Marion, and, Wayne Ritch and wife Gail; seven grandchildren, Wendy Dunford and husband Brian, Pamela Zacarolo, Alisha Harris and husband Scott, Brandon Ritch, Erica Ritch and fiancée David Wheeler, Samantha Mabry and husband Brandon Joe, David Bare Jr. and 10 great grandchildren: Jessalyn Coble, Derek Dunford, Austin Christy, Nathan Christy, Xander Zacarolo, Avery Hurlocker, Caleb Harris, Haleigh Mitchell, Bradon Mitchell, and Lily Mabry; brothers, Cecil S. Ritch, Coy Ritch and Seab A. Ritch; sisters Laura Johnson and Anna Mae Helms.
