Edna Hatley

Mrs. Edna Efird Hatley, 92 formerly of Walnut St., Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Big Elm Nursing Center. Funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday, June 2, 2012, at St. James Reformed Church, officiated by Rev. Gene Frady, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30am Saturday prior to the service, at the funeral home. Mrs. Hatley was born June 4, 1919 in Stanly County, NC daughter of the late Clifford and Arrie Blackwelder Barrier. She was a member of St. James Reformed Church, she enjoyed gardening, being outside, and visiting with friends. She was preceded in death by husbands, Homer Lee Efird and Banks Hatley, a daughter Frances Smith and a son Donald Efird. She is survived by a son Homer C. Efird and a daughter Jennie Page, son in law Bernie Smith, seven grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to St. James Reformed Church, PO Box 447, Mt.
