Edna Gray Evans

Edna Gray Evans, age 93, of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina, passed away on October 17, 2024 at Tucker Hospice House. Born on December 5, 1930, in Cabarrus County, Edna lived a life filled with love and devotion.

A cherished member of Miami Baptist Church for over 50 years, Edna was deeply committed to her faith and her church family. Her warm personality left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She took great joy in simple pleasures, such as shopping at JC Penney's, and held a special affinity for traveling, with a particular love for the beach and the mountains.

Edna is survived by her son Rick Evans and his wife Shirley; her daughter Daphne Morton and her husband Randy; her sister Sarah Burris; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Rebecca, Philip, Randy, Brandy, and Bradley, 12 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zeb Gray and Minnie Coley Gray, as well as her husband, the late Larry Evans.

Celebration of Edna's life will be held at Miami Baptist Church, located at 6701 Miami Church Rd, Concord, NC 28025. Visitation is scheduled for October 21, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family invites all who knew and loved Edna to join them in honoring her life.
