Duane Donald McDougall, 94, of Mt. Pleasant went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2021 at St. Andrews Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held 4pm Thursday July 15 at Mt. Pleasant Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by Rev. Frank Sossamon and Rev. Tommy Fuquay. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The McDougall family will receive friends from 2-4pm at the church prior to the service.
Duane was born August 11, 1926 in Mower County, Minnesota to the late Donald S. McDougall and Mary Haskin McDougall. Duane served his county in the U.S. Air Force, his service took him all over the county, including some time stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. After his military service he continued his travels around the country by working as a Trailway’s bus driver for 28 plus years. He was also a member of American Legion Post 301. His greatest legacy, is his service to Mt. Pleasant Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as head deacon, member of the cemetery and grounds committee, Sunday school leader and secretary of the men’s ministry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ann Sossamon McDougall. Sisters Betty Loken, Velma Ksionsk and brother Russell McDougall.
He is survived by a daughter DeAnn M. Mayers; a son Steve McDougall and wife Nedra; grandchildren, Jennifer Leger and husband Lester, Jared Mayers and wife Katie, Jessica McDougall and husband Larry Tran, Rachel McDougall and husband Chad Nishimura, Charis McDougall and husband Luke Hill, Asher McDougall and wife Haley, Macy Pope; great grandchildren Aiden Mayers, Ashton Mayers, Kylee Leger, Taylor Duhon, Judah Tran, Levi Tran, Yoshi Hill, Nelson McDougall, Avery Mayers, and Owen Nishimura.
