Douglas Wayne Burris

Douglas Wayne Burris, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his home.

            Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 19, 3pm at Gordon Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Howard and Rev. Lewis Whittington officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The Burris family will receive friends from 1-3pm prior to the service.

            Douglas was born May 26, 1934 in Cabarrus County to the late James B. Burris and Willie Mae Haithcock Burris. Doug worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Billy James Burris and Kenneth Burris; sisters, Jacqueline Culp, Anita Smith, Linda Lambert and Connie McCorkle.

            He is survived by sisters, Marlene Love, Shelia Lambert, Deloris Clayton all of Mt. Pleasant and Betty Harkey of Albemarle.
