Doris Jeanette Nelsin

Doris Jeanette Teague Nelsin, 84, of Concord passed away at her home on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017. A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Forest Lawn Cemetery West in Charlotte at the Teague family plot. Following the graveside service, there will be memorial celebration at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. A native of Mecklenburg County, NC, Doris was born on July 19, 1932, to William W. Teague and Blanche Wilkerson Teague. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased her husband Lieutenant Colonel Retired Darrel Nelsin, a brother, Burnice Teague, and a sister, Ruth Skidmore. A homemaker, she enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, square dancing and shopping. Doris a beloved mother is survived by two daughters, Lynnsey N. Rierson (Richard) and Carol N. Davis (Stan); a son, Steven Dale Nelsin (Michelle); a sister, Martha “Mot” O’Quinn; grandchildren, Janean Credle (Danny), Hannah Rierson, Jason Brafford (Kimberly), Crysten Harwood (Jereme), Sarah Lewis (Justin), Steven Nelsin, Jr., and cherished nine great-grandchildren; and a devoted number of nieces and nephews.
