Doris Miller

Mrs. Doris Lawler Miller, passed away November 25, 2010 at Claire Bridge Memory Care at Concord Place. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Sunday at Bethel (Bear Creek) United Church of Christ officiated by Rev. Terri Barringer, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Miller family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the church prior to the funeral service. She was born December 27, 1933 in Franklin County, Alabama. She was educated in Alabama where she met her husband Remmel Troy Miller, Sr. who was a career solider. Troy and Doris spent his military career in several states and overseas. They became parents of five children. She was a member of Bethel (Bear Creek) United Church of Christ and also a long time member of First Baptist Church in Troy, Alabama. Doris was a retired Phillip Morris employee. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Remmel Troy Miller. She is survived by three sons, Remmel Troy Miller, Jr. and wife Mary, Petersburg, VA, Larry Clinton Miller and wife Cherie of Monroe, NC, John Thomas Miller and wife Cindy of Burlington, NC, two daughters, Kathyann Miller Webb and husband Randy and Barbara Miller Eudy and husband Lee, both of Mt. Pleasant, brother, Valta Clarence Lawler of Bedford, VA, eight grandchildren, Justin Miller, Jessica Miller, Carrie Miller Flack, Sarah Miller Wright, Joshua Miller, Brittany Webb, Brennan Webb and Allyson Safrit and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Claire Bridge Memory Care of Concord Place, 2460 Rock Hill Church Rd. Concord, NC 28027
