Donald McGee Fisher, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 at the Tucker Hospice House.
The Fisher family will begin receiving friends at 1pm, February 28th, in the Lighthouse at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. A celebration of life service will follow in the Sanctuary at 3:00pm, officiated by Rev. Earl Bradshaw.
Don was born in Cabarrus County, son of the late Efird Fisher and Maude Wensil Fisher. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where he was active with the United Methodist Men’s group and their projects, Rosa James Sunday School Class and chairman of the cemetery committee. As a high school athlete, Don lettered in football, basketball and baseball making All-Conference and All-County in each sport. He later went on to coach Pop Warner Football and Little League Baseball. He was a retired truck driver for AG Boone Trucking. He was a loving and supportive father and grandfather and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and was a huge NC State fan.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Ridenhour Fisher; daughter Natalie Seymour (Gary); son Brad Fisher (Tammy); brother Eddie Fisher; sister, Mary Ann Cooper; grandchildren, Evan, Kaitlynn, Madalynn Seymour, Adam, Alex and Andrew Fisher.
