David Eugene Skinner, 77, of Concord passed away Wednesday May 4, 2022 at his home.
A graveside service will be held, 1:00 pm, Saturday May 14 at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Bob Wallace. The Skinner family will receive friends from 11am-12:30pm prior to the service at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Dave was born in Waynesburg Pennsylvania, March 30, 1945 to the late Harry Eugene and Leota Davis Skinner. He received his Electronic Engineering degree from Penn Technical Institute in Pittsburgh PA. He was recruited from college as a junior Engineer in 1965 by IBM Endicott NY. Through his career he worked diligently and moved up to senior Engineer where he worked on military defense projects including the F117A Nighthawk Stealth Fighter. He followed the Federal Systems business to Lockheed Martin in Springfield VA where he retired as the Director of System Solutions in 2005.
Dave was a devout Christian and attended Concord Christian Church. He spent his retirement in Concord NC where he enjoyed many recreational activities such as boating, playing with his dog Holly, golfing, riding his Harley Davidson, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Sharon; daughter Tiffany Kuenzli; sons, Christopher Skinner (Denise), and Shane Flanders (Jessica); grandchildren Samantha Wilson (Billy), Joshua Kuenzli, Jacob Skinner, Claire Skinner and Ethan Flanders; and great grandchildren, Ford and Avery Wilson.
