David Alan Boger

David Alan Boger, 59, of Rockwell passed away, Thursday, January 4, 2024 at UNC Hospital-Chapel Hill.

Funeral services will be held 4pm, Sunday January 7 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant officiated by Rev. Craig Scott and Dr. John Brantley. The Boger family will receive friends from 2-4 prior to the service.

David was born in Cabarrus County, August 5, 1964 to David and Carolyn Penninger Boger. He was a 1982 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School. He and wife Tammy were the owners and operators of Mt. Pleasant Mercantile. He enjoyed spending time tinkering on old cars and tractors. He also liked spending time outdoors especially at the beach, listening to music and playing with his dogs Eli and Roxy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; William and Gary Canup Penninger and Ray Atlas and Rachel Swinson Boger; and father-in-law Charles Knear.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Knear Boger; his parents David Atlas Boger and Carolyn Penninger Boger; daughter Heather Boger Blackwelder; grandchildren Gaige David Blackwelder, Jace Kyler Blackwelder and Aria Lynne Boger; brother Kevin A. Boger (Tracy); mother-in-law Linda Robson (Hank); brother-in-law David Knear (Connie Furr); as well as lifelong friend John Buckner.
