Charles Parnell

Charles Edmund Parnell, Sr., 82, passed away after an extended illness on February, 10 2012 at CMC-Northeast in Concord. He was born June 4, 1929 in Cabarrus County to the late J.D. Parnell and Ruth Swaringen Parnell. Mr. Parnell retired as Vice President of Cabarrus County Savings and Loan and enjoyed farming as a hobby. He served in the US Army as a Military Police and was stationed in Korea. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Hammill Parnell and 3 children, Lynnette Novobilski and husband, Joe, Beverly Freeman and husband, Fred, and grandson, Alex, and Charles Parnell, Jr. and grandsons, Matthew and Jacob. The family will receive friends from 6:30 and 8:30 PM Saturday at Gordon Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant. A private burial will be held at a later time.
