Charles "Buddy" Edward Blackwelder

Charles "Buddy" Edward Blackwelder, passed away on April 11, 2025, at the WG Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury. Born on December 15, 1930, in Cabarrus County, son of the late Lee Blackwelder and Lou Holbrooks Blackwelder.

Buddy, a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, proudly served as a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War Era, embodying the values of commitment and bravery.

After his military service, Buddy began his career at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, where he worked for many years as a forklift mechanic. His hands were known for their remarkable expertise, especially when it came to fixing old farm tractors, farming equipment, and classic Volkswagens. To those who knew him, he was affectionately referred to as an all-around "fix-it man," always ready and willing to lend a hand and share his mechanical prowess.

He was a devoted member of Epworth United Methodist Church and Grace Global Methodist Church, where he found fellowship.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Mullis Blackwelder, grandson Rodney Cook (Tracy), great-granddaughter Carla Rummage (Steven), great-grandson Jackson Cook, and great-great-grandchildren Brezlyn and Kennedy Rummage. He also leaves behind his niece, Marsha Johnson, and great-nephew Marty Moss, who will cherish his memory.

Buddy reunites in rest with his brothers George Blackwelder and James Blackwelder, as well as his sisters Vernice Earnhardt, Ruby Earnhardt, and Lillian Callahan.
