Cathy Styles

Cathy Marie Sifford Styles, 47 of Merle Rd., Concord, went to be with Jesus, Wednesday, July 24, at the Tucker Hospice House with her husband Steve by her side. Funeral service will be 3:30pm Saturday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Ron Hughes and Rev. Terry Cruse. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Styles family will receive friends from 2-3:30pm at the church prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Styles was born September 19, 1965 in Cabarrus County daughter of the late Walter L. "Hap" Sifford and Julia Gretchen Furr Sifford. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and attended Heritage Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a child who went to be with Jesus in 1997. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1983 and from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College with a Associate Degree in Science in 1988. She worked for 10 year at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte as a Radiological Technologist. She became disabled in 1997, She loved the outdoors, gardening, crafts, fishing and photography. She loved to make her own cards and sending them out to brighten one's day. She married Steve in 1994. Most of all she loved the Lord. She is survived by her husband Steve Styles, step daughter, Jennifer Lance, step grandson, Mavrik Lance, brother, William "Bill" Sifford, sister, Lisa Edwards and husband Phillip, a best friend Lisa Bowers Hopper and Cathy's faithful canine companion Blackberry. She wanted to thank her many doctors who cared for her; Dr. Craig Speiser, Dr. Suzanne Brown, Dr. Michael Houston and many from Kannapolis Family Physicians, Dr. Hayes in Chapel Hill and Dr. Lankford.
