Carrol Lynn Smith

Mrs. Carrol Lynn Smith, 63, of Las Vegas, NV passed away after a short period of illness on Wednesday August 19th. The family will hold a small private service at Wittenberg Lutheran Church in Granite Quarry, NC with a committal to follow in the church cemetery afterward at a date to be determined. Mrs. Smith was born June 22, 1957 in Honolulu, HI. She was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Ruth (Traster) Liebermann of Las Vegas. Carrol enjoyed spending time with her husband, bowling and exploring, as well as hiking with their two dogs, Clyde and Morgan. She had a love of nature and all things green, especially grass. She also valued education and encouraged others to continue their quest for learning. Carrol was a life-long administrative assistant working in the legal/correctional fields in Maryland and Nevada, ultimately gaining certification as a paralegal. Survivors include her husband Roy Smith; two sons Raymond McGowan of Alexandria, VA and John McGowan of Dunkirk, MD; daughter Cat Honeycutt and husband, Clay of Mt. Pleasant, NC; grandchildren Abigail S. and Patrick E. Honeycutt; and nephew David McGowan.
