Carolyn Boger Stegall, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015.
A celebration of her life will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at Gordon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Bostic officiating. Interment will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens in Concord.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at Gordon Funeral Home, 8559 Cook Street, Mt. Pleasant, NC.
Carolyn was born in Cabarrus County on Oct. 6, 1937, to Glenn and Dezie Whitley Boger. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raeford Stegall.
She worked at several hosiery and textile mills in Mt. Pleasant, and was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed Cabarrus County Senior Center activities and events, particularly bingo. She was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She also enjoyed her yellow roses.
Carolyn is survived by a son, Steven Stegall (Melanie) of Salisbury; two daughters, Janet S. Merry (Fredrick) of Concord, and Belinda S. Thompson (Randy) of Albemarle; five grandchildren, Jonathan Frye, Susan Birdsall, Jennifer Shatley, John Merry and Julie Wilkes; two great-grandchildren, Jeana Bonny and Tyler Wilkes; a brother, Ervin Boger of Enterprise, AL; and a sister, Linda Kimble of Concord.
