“Though she be but little, she is fierce.”
Carolyn Ann Honeycutt (née Dayton), of Albemarle, left her earthly body surrounded by loved ones in her home on Wednesday night, October 2, 2024.
A graveside service will be held on behalf of Carolyn, Saturday, October 5 at Bethel Bear Creek Church cemetery at 3 PM.
Carolyn was born March 12, 1948 in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Carolyn had a one-of-a-kind spirit that touched everyone—from her kind heart, sense of humor, and endearing wisdom, her greatest passion in life was being a mother and caregiver. She was the true embodiment of a mother’s unconditional love. She was known to many in her life as simply, “Mamaw.”
Despite not having a formal education herself, she was resourceful and always managed to provide for her family. She sought to instill the importance of hard work, financial independence, and an education among her children and grandchildren.
Carolyn had a passion for interior design, fashion, gardening, shopping, and all things glamorous. She enjoyed creating spaces that made people feel at home with her attention to detail and immaculate cleaning skills. Ever the non-conformist, she put a unique flair on everything she did in her life.
Carolyn had a lust for life. She enjoyed showcasing her sense of style, especially when attending local dances. She also loved visiting the Biltmore Estate and the beach, watching the Twilight series, listening to classic rock & oldies music, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by; her daughter Paula Talbert and son Duane Farley (Jennifer). In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren she raised as her own children, Savannah Morton (Eddie), Sarah Hill (Justin), Joleen Hill McIntyre (Mark), and Joey Earl Hill. Carolyn is also survived by grandchildren, Heather Hopson and Jessica Talbert Tieking, brother Sam Dayton (Janice), best friend since childhood David Farley, and great grandchildren Dayton, Watson, and Atticus McIntyre, and Joey Scott Hill.
Carolyn is preceded in death by; her two daughters, Catrina Morton (née Farley) and Stephanie Farley, two sons, Dale Holtsclaw and Joey Paul Hill, parents Leona and Marshall Dayton, and siblings Kenneth, Ronnie, and Kathy Dayton.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her lifelong primary care physician, Dr. Leonard Saltzman, and his staff. Additionally, they would like to thank Tillery Compassionate Care for all of the comfort and support they provided Carolyn in her final months.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the grounds keeping funds of Bethel Bear Creek Church cemetery.
