Carolyn Louise Eagle Eudy, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Carillon Assisted Living in Harrisburg.
Funeral service will be 4:00pm Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Mark Ericson, burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Eudy family will receive friends from 5-7pm Saturday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Eudy was born May 18, 1935 in Cabarrus County daughter of the late Charles Voight Eagle and Martha Katherine Barringer Eagle. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she had been active on the church council, senior choir member, Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class where she had served as class president and a member of the Ellen Cox Circle. She also served on many committees, Music and Worship, Education, Bereavement, Fellowship. Carolyn also helped maintain the grounds at St. John's, mowing grass and watering flowers. She also visited the homebound on a regular basis, taking foods and gifts. She was a member of the St. John's Grange and was awarded with woman granger of the year. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lion Club and Lions Auxiliary.
Carolyn loved to travel with her friends on road trips and bus trips to many places in the United States. She retired from the Concord Tribune after thirty years of service and later worked at Mount Pleasant High School as librarian for ten years. She was preceded in death by her husband W.B. Eudy, a sister Joyce E. Elwood and a brother, Hoyle B. Eagle.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Edwards and husband Kevin, sons, Tim Eudy and Charles Eudy and a granddaughter McKenzie Edwards.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Carillon Assisted Living for their love and care during Mrs. Eudy's declining health.
