Calvin Monroe Carpenter

Calvin Monroe Carpenter, 72, of Concord, passed away, Saturday, January 16 at Atrium Health-Cabarrus. Memorial service will be 1:00pm Saturday, January 23, at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church where he was a member. Calvin was born January 8, 1949 in Cabarrus County, son of the late Floyd G. Carpenter and Mary Robinson Carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by his wife Janice Fisher Carpenter; a son Billy Carpenter; brothers, Marion, Floyd, Joe, Wilbert (Bill), Ray, Leonard and a sister Helen Benton. He is survived by son Allen Carpenter (Kathryn Stephens); daughter Rebecca Furr (Robert); sister Fannie Mae Stegall; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
