Billy Pate Hamrick

Billy Pate Hamrick, 87 died on Sunday, April 25, 2021 after several years of declining health. The Hamrick family will receive friends at Gordon Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant on Wednesday, April 28 beginning at 1:00. A celebration of Billy’s life will begin at 2:00 pm with Fay McRorie presiding at Gordon Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Born in Alamance County, North Carolina on November 6, 1933, Billy was the son of Jewel Makajah and Bessie Wright Hamrick. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Helms Hamrick. Billy was a graduate of Landis High School. He worked on the docks at Fredrickson Motor Lines and at home was a loving husband and father who cherished his time with his family. Billy was faithful to the O.B.E.Y Ministries. He enjoyed watching all sports, but especially baseball and the Atlanta Braves. Billy is survived by his sons, Billy P Hamrick, Jr.(Sandy), Van Keith Hamrick (Pia) and Scott Hamrick (Dedra); and daughter, Susan Hamrick Fink (Randy); eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
