Beulah Medlin

Beulah Hahn Medlin, age 93, formerly of Portsmouth passed away on Nov. 16, 2011 at the home of Roger and Mary Ann Medlin. She was born in Cabarrus, Co. North Carolina, to Minnie and Jason Ferry Hahn. She spent her growing up years in Cabarrus Co. moving to Mt. Pleasant as a teenager. She married Lawrence Medlin right out of High School and she spent her early married life in Mt. Pleasant and then traveling around during the War years as Lawrence did defense work. She and Lawrence moved to Portsmouth from Northern Virginia in 1967 when he took over the Dodge Dealership with two of his sons. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Lawrence L. Medlin, Sr., son, Lawrence L. Medlin, Jr ; grandson, Danny Medlin; a sister; and 4 brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Timothy Medlin (Sonya), Roger Medlin (Mary Ann); daughter-in-law, Nancy Medlin; 10 grandchildren, Bonnie Whitehurst, Juli Wadsworth, Linda Antezana, Timothy Medlin, Jr.. Brendan Medlin, Michael Myer, Laura Medlin, Roger Medlin, Jr., Brian Medlin, Christine Butler and 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She loved the Lord and gave unselfishly of herself to her family. Loving memories will always remain. The family will receive friends in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel Thursday 6:30-8:00 p.m. with a funeral service to be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Also the family will receive friends from 1-2pm Saturday and a service to follow at 2:00pm at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, and burial to follow at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.
