Andre Correll

Mr. Andre M. Correll, 71 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. Memorial service will be 2:00pm Saturday, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 950 Bradley St., NE, Concord, NC, officiated by Rev. Deborah Frye. The Correll family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Correll was born September 29, 1942 in Rowan County son of the late Arnold Correll and Eva Hopkins Correll. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. He graduated from Lenoir Rhyne College where he also played football. He was a retired teacher from the Cabarrus County School System, having taught special education at Northwest High School and Mt. Pleasant High School. He also coached football, track and girls basketball. He loved his dogs, Brody and Elliott, and you often saw them riding around town. He is survived by his wife Janelle Bost Correll, daughter, Andrea Correll and partner Rhoda Rillorta, son Andy Correll and wife Meliss, brothers, Arnold Correll and wife Pam, Roy Glenn Correll and wife Rhonda, sisters, Geraldine Hodge and husband Bill and Brenda Cress and husband Richard, grand children, Grace Rillorta, Bryce and Owen Correll.
